   Bishop Allan Alexander Broom, Sr. 

  On October 24, 1945 at 9:45 p.m. a male child was born at 940 Kershaw Street in Cheraw, South Carolina. "Alexander" as "he is known by his family" became the proud son of Clayton Broome and Rebecca Nixon Broome. At an early age, his grandmother in Cheraw raised him while his mother went to Pennsylvania to look for employment. At the age of eight, he moved to Farrell, Pennsylvania to live with his mother. His siblings include a brother, Melvin Perry of Indianapolis, Indiana and a sister, the late Rosa Lee McCoy formerly of Farrell Pennsylvania.

  He attended Farrell Public Schools before entering the U.S. Navy in 1964. While in the U.S. Navy, Allan A. Broom, Jr., was born. After separating from the Navy, Pastor Broom worked many odd jobs before accepting employment at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, Virginia where he retired on October 31, 2007 with 43 years and 3 months of loyal and faithful service.  Bishop Broom accepted the Lord as his personal Savior at a very young age. After going through many tests and trials of life, he returned to the Lord and joined the Garden of Prayer Temple Church of God in Christ pastored by Bishop L. E. Willis. For seventeen years, he served as an associated minister under Bishop Willis guidance. Bishop Broom became an Ordained Elder in August 1994. In August 1994, he became the assistant to Elder Queenie J. Barton, Pastor of the Holy Jerusalem Church of God in Christ. August 1999, Bishop Broom was commissioned to start a new work by Bishop L. E. Willis and the new Frontier Church of God in Christ, Third Jurisdiction of Virginia.

  On September 12, 1999, Bishop Broom officially opened Anchoring Hope Family Worship Center in his home. January 2000, he moved Anchoring Hope to Days Inn-Norfolk Airport on Northampton Blvd in Virginia Beach, Virginia. On August 4, 2001, he moved Anchoring Hope to 3150 Magic Hollow Blvd, Virginia Beach, Virginia. He is President of the Voice of Hope Ministries, Inc. (2000), Founder and General Overseer Voice of Hope Alliance (2004), Founder and President Eagle Saints Academy (2006).

  One of Bishop Broom's past time is to study the Word of God. He has received many Biblical Study Certificates throughout the years. Pastor Broom is a graduate of Charles Harrison Mason Systems of Bible Colleges where he received a degree in Pastoral Counseling, June 1986. December 17, 1999, Pastor Broom received is Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies from Rhema Seminary & College.

​   On the 21st day of November in the year of our Lord 2004, Allan A. Broom Sr. was consecrated Bishop in Apostolic Ministries Incorporated of Farrell, Pennsylvania. Bishop Alvin J. McCoy, Prelate and Bishop Stephen Bennefield, President. In 2005, Bishop Allan A. Broom, Sr. was appointed Vice President of Apostolic Ministries Incorporated of Farrell,Pennsylvania.  Bishop Broom married the former Carolyn Brown Rowsom on October 9, 1982 who was consecrated an Elder in 2004. He has two children Allan, Jr. and Vernecia Patrick and four grandchildren. Bishop Broom is a true humble man of God and has the love of God's people in his heart.

Elder Carolyn Anne Brown Broom


Carolyn was born in Norfolk, Virginia December 11, 1949 at the Norfolk Community Hospital. She is the eldest child of Willie & Lethia Brown and the oldest of eight sisters and three brothers. She has been married to Allan A. Broom, Sr. for twenty-two years and has a daughter name Vernecia “Neccey”.


She attended Norfolk City Public School and Norfolk State University. She is a graduate of Charles Harrison Mason Bible College with a degree in Christian Education.


In 1959, she was introduced to the Pentecostal denomination at the Herald of His Coming Church of God in Christ. While there she taught school day school, ushered, sang in the choir and was the Sunday School Secretary under the leadership of Bishop David C. Love.


In 1967, the family moved its membership to Garden of Prayer Temple Church of God in Christ and she remained there until her husband was promoted. She served as usher chairperson for three boards, member of the Hospitality committee, sang in various choirs, taught both youth an adult Sunday school classes. She served as an assistant to the church secretary, typist for church bulletin and one of the writers for Bishop L. E. Willis, Sr. She chaired and served on many program committees. She was licensed as a Missionary by Bishop Willis.


She was a Portsmouth District worker in the New Frontier COGIC under the leadership of Supt. Samuel Moore. While there she was the District secretary and an aide to three District Missionaries. She chaired and served on many program committees.


In August 1994, she accompanied her husband to Holy Jerusalem Church of God in Christ, Pastored by Elder Queenie Barton. While there she became the financial secretary and an unofficial church administrator. She chaired and served on many program committees.


In August 1999, she accompanied her husband and co-founded the Anchoring Hope Family Worship Center where she wore many hats along with being the church administrator and financial secretary. In April 2001, she became the Vice President of Voice of Hope Ministries, Inc. She has helped organize many community outreach projects and is the co-editor of the Voice of Hope Gazette. She serves in Norfolk District I New Frontier COGIC under the leadership of Supt. Wilbert McNair as the assistant to the District Missionary and the Program Chairperson.


On the 21st day of November in the year of our Lord 2004, Carolyn A. Broom was ordained Elder of Apostolic Ministries Incorporated of Farrell, Pennsylvania, Bishop Alvin J. McCoy, Prelate and Bishop Stephen Bennefield, President. Currently in partnership and fellowship with Christ Empowered Ministries, 1118 Pickett Rd. Norfolk, Virginia 23502(Where Bishop Randy and Apostle Rhonda Holloman are Pastors.)


Most important: Carolyn is saved, sanctified and Holy Ghost filled. She loves the Lord and does not mind serving Him in whatever capacity that is needed.
